What’s my story?
I was inspired to launch TreasureBags after a weekend at our cottage devoted to praying and asking God to show me how to use my creativity for his purposes.I had been a stay at home Mom for 10 years and devoted those precious years to my family. The boys were growing up, much more independent and I was READY for something. Because I knew firsthand what a challenge it can be for women to embrace their uniqueness, beauty and significance and had so many friends up against the same internal battles, I asked him to show me how {specifically} I could partner my passion for art, fashion, design and creativity with my desire to encourage and inspire women to walk in love and truth. He directed me through a series of questions that I answered in my journal pertaining to my personal loves, passions, and joys. I told him that I loved quotes and words(especially His), fabric, accessories, ribbons, trims and a little bit of bling. He directed me to one of my favorite verses in the Bible. Luke12:34. I continued to read the entire scripture and this is what it said:
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide PURSES for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
You know those times in your life when you know, that you know, that you know? I knew at that time to SEIZE the moment. I know for sure that God heard and felt the longing of my heart that weekend at the cottage. I am devoted to doing the best I can to fulfill His plan for my life for His glory.
Because our BAGS are where we keep our TREASURES, I can’t think of a better place to display the “truest” treasures, God’s truths{which are promised from his words}, which always directs our hearts to “everlasting” treasures…the best kind of all. Think of it as a compass for your heart.
I love to combine eclectic combinations of multiple fabrics in various textures. TreasureBags are not only adorned with inspiring words and scripture but also unexpected details like vintage buttons and funky trims. They come in many shapes and sizes; although, the TOTE with lots of pockets is TreasureBag’s original design.
Thank you for reading my story. I am passionate and dedicated to sharing TreasureBags with you and hopefully someday the whole world.
Love, {because he first loved me}

Dana:
Finally had a chance to review this. Wow! What an inspiring story, and one that came to me with perfect timing! It’s easy to get caught up in the hectic fray of our lives, but what a special reminder that you shared…to slow down, and seek the “treasure” of our hearts. Thank you for the message. Your bags are beautiful!
